With the inaugural season for FC Humber now fully underway; The club aims to continue its search for new ideas and ways to further itself and apply that professional touch in our ever-present endeavour to learn, adapt and move forward; However, it is not all about the professionalism off the pitch as the hard work from Club Manager, Mark Maspero and the FC Humber squad continues through the club’s inaugural season.
However, it is not all about league fixtures this season; FC Humber have seen an application into this season’s FA Vase become a success and for just the second time in the club’s history; Perhaps an FC Humber cup dream will be on the cards. FC Humber will commence their FA Vase dream with a home tie vs Parkgate FC on Friday 10th September after a change in date after it was confirmed landlords Selby Town are playing at Home on the Saturday.
There is no denying everyone involved in football enjoys the magic of the Cup, the thrill of the underdog and Mark Maspero’s men will most certainly aim for a decent cup run themselves. Quoting the gaffer from previous interviews, Mark had this to say; “We are realistic, we are unlikely to win this cup. So, there is no pressure to get a result. But everyone loves a cup run, it breeds a winning mentality and togetherness. With a right mentality and a little luck, anything is possible in a one-off game. So, we will secretly dream.”
Everyone involved with the club very much looks forward to the Clubs FA Vase endeavour and welcoming Parkgate FC to the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium; And with the added magic of Friday night football, who knows what we will have in store. The road to Wembley starts here.
