Speaking after the game in a post-match interview, Mark Maspero offered an honest assessment of a somewhat disappointing 8-0 defeat, away to Armthorpe Welfare: “Despite some fantastic battling performances recently, the last 2 games have produced awful team performances littered with individual mistakes.

We knew exactly how Armthorpe would set up and play, but still could not handle their ferocious intensity and desire to be first to the ball. Unfortunately as coaches we can not coach or Instil the desire to compete and be aggressive, which is the bare minimum expectation. But we do expect players to follow instructions and learn from mistakes. If players can’t do any of this then we need to find players that can.”

When it comes to FC Humber United against Clipstone FC in competitive action, the two have never previously met. Therefore, the stakes are set for both in taking an early step in the tale of the tape between Clipstone FC and FC Humber United. A huge game it will be, both Humber and Clipstone are very much in need of points on the board after perhaps a lacklustre start for the two.

The Saturday fixture could well be the stepping stone Humber requires to get back on track, however, the same could probably be said of Clipstone. Only time will tell as we look forward to welcoming all to the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium.
