Humber have undoubtedly their biggest match of the season this Saturday, as they face relegation rivals Swallownest.

If Humber win the match, they go within one point of Swallownest with a game in hand. However, if they lose it, they will be seven points adrift of safety. With only three games left to play.

As the old cliche goes, this match is a six-pointer and a must win match for both teams at this stage of the season.

The pressure is evenly distributed between the two sides and both sides still have destiny in their own hands.

Over March, Swallownest won one out of their seven fixtures. Interestingly, four out of their five points came against top half teams.

The South Yorkshire side failed to beat the likes of Shirebrook, Rainworth, Teversal and Hall Road Rangers in the last month.

Swallownest’s home form has been shaky of recent. They’ve lost their last three home games without scoring and conceded six.

The home side this weekend rank second worst in the league for goals scored over the season, whereas Humber have climbed into the top half for that statistic, due to their 5-2 drubbing against Ollerton Town in midweek.

Over the season, Swallownest have three more clean sheets than Humber but Humber have scored in four more matches than Swallownest have.

Swallownest have a superior goal difference to Humber, being 30 goals better off than the Selby based side. This effectively acts as an extra point, making a win all the more necessary for Humber.

In March there were a whopping 35 goals shared in Humber’s matches, this was 22 more than in Swallownest’s matches.

The contrast in the teams styles and the circumstances of the match, should make for an exciting contest.

Last time out Swallownest beat Humber 2-1 away from home, but with both sides much changed it’s hard to predict the outcome of this match.

Despite the match being away from home all away support will be greatly appreciated, travel down to South Yorkshire and get behind the lads this weekend.
