FC Humber United will play their final game of the Northern Counties East League Division One season on Tuesday night against Hall Road Rangers.
Following their emphatic 5-1 victory on the weekend against Parkgate, Humber will be hoping to reach similar levels again.
With Humber confirmed to have finished 19th on Saturday they will simply be playing for pride against the team from Hull.
Despite occupying a relegation place, all hope is not lost for Humber as they await a decision from the FA on whether they will remain in the division next season.
Humber’s opponents Hall Road Rangers also have nothing to play for on Tuesday except possibly improving their position in the table.
Hall Road beat Humber in the reverse fixture 5-1 at Haworth Park on 23 October 2021 and in their last five games, they have won two and lost three. Most recently on Saturday having lost 3-0 at home to Dronfield Town.
Hall Road’s star man and top scorer is Sam Robinson who scored a hattrick against Humber in the reverse fixture.
The opponents’ biggest win this season came away from home with a 7-0 thrashing of Teversal which is equal to the biggest away win this season.
The team from Hull is not a team that likes to share the points with just three draws in their 38 matches played so far this season.
Despite this game not being particularly important for either team from Humber’s perspective this will be a good test for if they do stay up going into next season.
This season Humber knows that going forward they have been a threat to every team however they have conceded 138 goals which have proven to be the downfall of Humber.
With pressure now off both teams, Tuesday night should make for an exciting encounter.
