Humber made the trip to Rainworth in high spirits after two back-to-back draws and picking up vital points in our fight for survival.

A cagey, nervy and tough opening start to the game had both sides looking to stamp authority on the fixture and it was Humber that struck first to break the deadlock through Brandon Burke on 32 minutes, handing us a vital lead going into the half time break.

As confidence rose we just couldn’t find a second goal, not for willingness of trying it just didn’t materialise as Rainworth found their way back into the fixture.

The referee calling the half time whistle came at a perfect time to regroup, refocus and go again for a vital 45 minutes of the season.

Holding our own and defending strongly against the constant threat of long throw-in’s and set-pieces we kept everything out time after time. As tiredness crept in and the nerves began to filter into the team alongside lack of options from the bench once again hindered our hopes of gaining something from this all important fixture.

Rainworth began to take control and a delivery into the box from a set-piece was the undoing of the Humber defence for the equaliser and before we could even get to grips with this goal Rainworth struck again to take the lead, two goals in two minutes the difference.

A night to forget for Humber in what was a must win game, 6 games left this season and all to play for with passion, belief and willingness to win games of football is needed if we are to stay up against all odds.
