Brandon Burke – Player
“Having left Chesterfield I fell out of love with football and it was a difficult period in my football career, playing under the management of Marc made me feel comfortable and wanted within a team. With great advice and opportunities on and off the pitch this created the best possible chance to progress in the industry. I fell back in love with football again! Marc sorted trials for me at Semi Professional clubs within the 1st teams and also at junior level at a Professional club.”
Craig Whincup – Club Director
“In the football club I was involved with, over the years, I learnt most people simply just wanted to talk a lot, and never walked the walk. But I look back and for me, the good working relationships I treasure ultimately comes down to trust …. that the job will always get done, that care and attention is being given, but most importantly that the players and people come first and are being looked after. Marc at Goole on day one did all that, it wasn’t a club ethos but he introduced it in the time I was there. His players looked to him when they were on the pitch, and away from football in everyday life, he was someone ever-dependable, self motivated with his own extremely high standards. To be able to trust and rely on someone 100% is so rare in life, rarer in football, but that’s how it is with Marc.”

“Marc came to Goole as under 18’s manager where I was playing for the reserve team at the time. Early on even prior to playing for him in the under 21’s, it was clear to see the organisation and willingness to succeed which he had even at that point. What particularly stood out for me however was the desire for each individual player to succeed and reach their true potential which is not commonly seen in non-league football. This was exactly what I needed at the time to help me fall back in love with football and try and develop myself to be a better player after injury.
Marc provided me with opportunities which I hadn’t had previously most notably playing at Edgeley Park against Stockport County’s academy on more than one occasion and this is something which I will forever be grateful for. These opportunities are down to the links which he has within the game and are a prime example of how he wants to give each of his players the best opportunity to go on and succeed”.
